Housing & Support Services

Find somewhere to live YMCA

Our St David’s Hill residential centre in Exeter provides housing and support to 31 young people who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. We also have five more houses around the City of Exeter which provide accommodation to a further 20 young people, all of whom have moved on from St David’s Hill and require a lower level of support in the transition to independent living.

We help our young people to achieve their goals and tackle any issues they may be struggling with, so every young person who lives at YMCA Exeter has a designated Link Worker who journeys alongside them. Each area of our support plan offers professional pastoral care, enabling young people to process personal circumstances and develop their skills.

Support areas can include:

  • finding a GP
  • counselling
  • creating healthy relationships
  • employment advice
  • emotional & physical wellbeing
  • managing debt
  • money advice
  • sports activities
  • cooking lessons
  • personal identity
  • managing disabilities
  • maintaining accommodation
  • physical & sexual health
  • respecting others
  • hygiene
