We actively look for opportunities to make a positive impact, believing that every young person is hugely valuable and we offer services where they can feel secure, respected, heard and valued.

Every year we provide Supported Accommodation for young people who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. We also work with the local Probation service to support ex-offenders, we run a mental health and wellbeing service for 5-30 year olds across Exeter and our Youth Services intervene in crucical matters relating to the lives of children and teenagers.

Across all our projects, we give young people a safe and warm place to call home, health & wellbeing support to help them build their confidence and training and skills courses so they can enhance their CV and find meaningful employment.

We want to work with local businesses who share our vision and who are committed to standing up for young people in our local community.

Partnering with YMCA Exeter means that your business will play a vital role in finding effective and lasting solutions to social issues including youth homelessness, unemployment, poor mental health and loneliness. As well as getting involved in fundraising initiatives, your company will also:

  • Receive a number of CSR opportunities each year for your employees
  • Opportunities to offer work experience and placements to our young people
  • Invitations to special YMCA events to meet our young people, hear their stories and see how your support influences their lives.

“YMCA Exeter does outstanding work to support young homeless people. The reality for many people who go to the same schools as our own children is that they live in broken homes, with parents who are struggling with addictions, they might be carers themselves. This limits their own start in life, stopping them from achieving at school and focusing on a career or a future.

I have personally visited the YMCA residential centre in Exeter, which provides a stepping stone for people to get back on their feet or have a new start in life. The work the YMCA do it outstanding, they are not just providing a bed in a homely positive atmosphere, they are helping young people to find independence and turn their lives around. Kier Group delighted to support the essential work that YMCA provide.
