Our Support

Every year YMCA Exeter provides Supported Housing for over 100 young people and helps many more find accommodation that is suitable to them.

We have four stages of housing across the city:

• Stage 1 is a 31-bedroom residential centre in St David’s Hill and is the entry point for all young people. Find a tour of the accommodation here.
• Stage 2 is a set of four shared houses in Newcourt, near Ikea and the Sandy Park Stadium
• Stage 3 is a six-month tenancy training programme offered either in a shared house located in Exwick or in a self-contained flat at Sidwell Studios.
• Stage 4 is available upon successful completion of the training programme and is based in the same locations.

Each stage offers a varying degree of one-to-one and peer support and gives young people, aged 18-29, the opportunity to make a fresh start.

Young people live at YMCA Exeter for different periods of time, depending on their needs and where they are on their journey. Many move through our stages of housing as they work towards a home of their own taking the time they need.

Our housing options are specifically for young people who are coming out of homelessness and would like the support of a community to move forward.
