Inspired by Jesus’ example, YMCA Exeter support young people to experience fullness of life in body, mind and spirit.
We work with young people and those in our communities who need help the most, through our supported housing projects, mental health intervention and family support.
Over the last 10 years, we have helped over 400 previously-homeless young people to successfully move through our supported housing pathway and into independent living.
Become a Friend and help transform the lives of even more young people through access to safe, quality homes and the unique care they need.
In addition to our housing services, we deliver community support initiatives, including a Children’s Wellbeing service, an inter-generational Forest School, rural Youth Clubs and parenting groups.
Become a Friend and help us meet the needs of the most vulnerable and isolated in our community.
Since 1846, we have continuously adapted to meet the needs of our community. Today, we rely on the generosity of Friends who make our work possible with a monthly donation.
You’ll receive our newsletter, early notification of special events, an invitation to open days and a YMCA pin badge

How monthly donations help us
- £10 could provide 4 young people with a nutritious meal and healthy-cooking skills through our Foodboost program.
- £30 will help one young person engage in ‘Horticulture Therapy’ – a trauma-informed gardening project that promotes mental wellbeing.
- £50 could help a child or family in access 1-2-1 mental health support with a qualified Wellbeing Practitioner.
- £100 will help provide a warm room to a homeless young person and support to get back on their feet.
