Inspired by Potential – Meet Finn, a musician and songwriter 

Once facing homelessness, this is where Finn is today:  

I struggle a lot with my mental health and knowing how to express myself. But spending time in the studio at YMCA Exeter, I’m able to sing loudly and play passionately. Because of music, I’m alive. 

Over the last six months I’ve been doing tutorials on Logic Pro, learning how to create and arrange music. Recently, I finished a climbing course with YMCA Exeter and the coordinator, Tim, suggested I write a song about climbing. I loved the idea, so we collaborated on it.  

Throughout the whole time I’ve lived at YMCA Exeter, they’ve given me the gift of support. They’re always encouraging me and willing to pray with me. Without them, I don’t know if I would have made it this far. 

Although Finn doesn’t want to share his song more widely, we have had the privilege of listening to Finn perform his beautiful and inspiring song, ‘Ascend’.  We are so excited to see what Finn creates next!
