It’s a big thank you from us and a fond farewell to the Rt Rev. Robert Atwell as he stepped down from his role as Bishop of Exeter during a beautiful service of thanksgiving at Exeter Cathedral on Sunday 17th September.
“Bishop Robert has been a constant support to YMCA Exeter over his seven years of service as President and has helped us raise the plight of homeless young people in Exeter,” says Gareth Sorsby, YMCA Exeter Joint CEO. “He has been a faithful friend, loyal supporter and wise advisor.
“We have greatly appreciated his kindness in letting us host events at the palace and in more recent months he has stood with us and spoken up against Devon County Council’s proposed funding cuts.”
Rt Rev. Robert Atwell has attended every Sleep Easy event hosted by YMCA Exeter in the last seven years, meeting and chatting with YMCA Exeter residents, volunteers and supporters.
We wish him all the best as he heads off to new adventures.
