Welcome to our Children's and Youth Services!
We want all of our children and teenagers to reach their full potential and experience fullness of life in body, mind and spirit. Through Open Access Clubs, Targetted Interventions and Schools’ Work, we provide safe spaces where they feel valued and we equip them with the tools they need to thrive.
From sports and games, to arts, crafts and residentials, we strive to inspire each young person to play a positive role in benefitting their local community. We also have informative conversations about mental health, drugs & alcohol, sex, crime, racism, money, employment, education, social media, and world issues and young people can have one to ones if they want to talk about things they are struggling with.
We’re looking forward to expanding our work into the Tithebarn and Westclyst areas of Exeter in September 2024.
We also support families in the community through the work of our Young Families Workers in Exwick and Newcourt. More details can be found below.
Interview with Rachel Davey, YMCA Exeter Youth Club Alumni.
At age 12, Rachel Davey moved to the rural village of Broadclyst and discovered YMCA Exeter’s Youth Club, almost literally, right on her doorstep!
Now 18 years old, Rachel kindly met with us to chat about how YMCA Exeter has supported her. We take her to Exeter’s Chococo Café – after six years at Youth Club, we know she is a big fan of hot chocolate!
